Youth Development Learning Institute

Online education has unique challenges.  Most of us have received training in classrooms and other live training venues.  We may have listened to tapes, watched videos and dvds, and pursued other avenues of learning.  When we decided to start the Youth Development Learning Institute, we decided to offer an online option for almost all our courses for the following reasons:

• Cost Effectiveness-In other companies, we had traveled all over to provide On Site training.  We also had local courses and people traveled to us.  We heard from our clients that they needed a more cost-effective option.
• Flexible Delivery-Through online education, we can combine lectures, audio, visual demonstrations, quizzes, discussion forums, branching scenarios, we can provide learning opportunities that work for everyone's learning style.
• Accessibility-Using an online institute, we can give our students life-long access to courses they have taken, and even allow them to see any updates we have made to keep courses relevant.  For example, when training on assessments, the student can review the class on the assessment prior to meeting with a client. 
• Reinforcement-When we do offer On Site training, or Live Webinars, we can use the online presence to reinforce the learning goals of our other delivery methods.
