Hi, I’m Yajaida De Jesús — a lifelong educator turned instructional designer and eLearning developer.
With nearly two decades of classroom experience, I’ve cultivated a passion for designing learning experiences that are inclusive, engaging, and purpose-driven. I specialize in crafting culturally responsive content, integrating storytelling, music, and technology to make learning stick. Whether I’m guiding middle schoolers through algebra and cell theory or leading math interventions for younger learners, my goal is always the same: to empower every student to thrive.
Now, I’m channeling that same passion and creativity into instructional design and eLearning development. With a strong foundation in teaching, training, and curriculum design, I specialize in creating dynamic, learner-centered experiences tailored to adult learners. My featured project demonstrates how I apply adult learning principles to every phase of instructional design. I used the ADDIE model to guide the design process and integrated Mayer’s principles of multimedia learning to ensure the content is engaging, accessible, and effective. This thoughtful approach helps learners build meaningful connections with the material—and drives real results for organizations. Whether I’m designing scenario-based eLearning or developing training for workplace upskilling, my goal is always the same: to empower adult learners to build confidence, apply new skills, and thrive in real-world settings.
When I’m not designing or teaching, you’ll likely find me on a run (I just ran my first half marathon in Maui!), dancing salsa, or moving seamlessly between English and Spanish. I believe that movement, rhythm, and language are powerful tools for connection — and I bring that same energy and openness into every learning experience I create.
Let’s build something learners will love!
